Why We Do What We Do
People often ask Jacky and I why we put so much time into the sport, here are a few reasons why:-

Jacky and I visited Richard in the UK over Xmas and went down to training one morning, here's some of the Team hard at work.
World Cup #4 Shanghai - China 9, 10 & 11th Dec. 14th in the 1500m, 16th in the 500m and 3rd in the Relay behind China and Canada.

10 October 2011 - Here's a link to the Team GB Webpage - http://www.gbshorttrack.org/ - lots of good stuff here.

2 October 2011 - Invitation Cup Heerenveen Holland. First competition of the season for Richard. He finished 3rd overall, he was 5th in the 1500m (2.26.072), 2nd in the 500m (42.287) and 3rd in the 1000m (1.27.169). Nice way to start the season.
August 2011 - Just a quick update on the kids, Richard is back in the UK training hard for the upcoming season and Kristy has decided to hang her skates up. She wants to get on with her life, she's back at school fulltime, riding her horse and has a new Man in her life, she is enjoying herself which I guess is all that matters.
August - 2010 - For those of you that don't know, Richard has jumped the ship and is now skating for Team Great Britain.
For those of
you that think the boys made a fortune out of breaking the World Record, this is
what they got, a Certificate.
World Cup #6 Dresden Germany - 10th - 500m #1, 4th - 500m #2 and the GB Relay Team broke the World Record in the B Final 6.37.877.

He skated the World Cup in Montreal finishing 6th in the 1000m and 17th in the 500m. In Quebec City he finished 22nd in the 1000m, getting a Penalty in his 1000m 1/4 final and 11th in the 500m. The Skaters that beat him in his 500m 1/4 final went on to finish 1st and 2nd in the A Final. Some amazing racing the past 2 weekends.
